OpenMontage
NexusAi Summary: OpenMontage is an open-source, agentic video production system with 12 pipelines and 50+ tools. It orchestrates research, scripting, asset generation, editing, and rendering via Remotion or HyperFrames, with strict quality gates, decision logs, and optional cloud or fully local providers.
NexusAi Overview
You describe the outcome; the agent executes a governed pipeline. It researches, drafts, plans scenes, selects providers, generates assets, and assembles timelines. Remotion or HyperFrames renders the edit, then automated self-review validates audio, frames, and delivery promises before presenting a finished video.
Capabilities and Architecture
Designed for engineers, technical marketers, creators, and operators who need reproducible, auditable video pipelines. Ideal for explainers, archival montages, product teasers, talking-head augmentation, podcast repurposing, localization and dubbing, or batch clip extraction. Teams can enforce budgets, approvals, and renderer governance while swapping providers without vendor lock‑in.
- Build real-footage documentaries from Archive.org, NASA, Wikimedia, and free stock.
- Generate images, motion clips, narration, and music using pluggable cloud providers.
- Render animated scenes with Remotion or GSAP-based HyperFrames, chosen per brief.
- Enforce delivery promises with pre-compose validation and slideshow-risk scoring automatically.
- Self-review every render via ffprobe, frame sampling, and audio analysis.

Why It Matters
Prerequisites: Python 3.10+, FFmpeg, Node.js 18+. Clone the repo, run make setup, and copy .env. Add any provider keys you have; zero keys still enable Piper TTS, WhisperX, archival footage, and stock APIs. Optional GPU unlocks local video models (WAN 2.1, Hunyuan, CogVideo, LTX-Video). Operate via Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, or Codex—the assistant orchestrates pipelines, tools, and renders.
NexusAi: Structured pipelines, auditable decisions, and automatic self-review turn AI video from a prompt into a reproducible production process.
Getting Started
OpenMontage stands out by pairing open-source flexibility with production governance: scored provider selection, renderer discipline, delivery promises, and mandatory self-review. It supports both real-footage and AI-generated paths, runs cloud or local, and remains auditable, budget-aware, and reproducible across briefs and teams.

OpenMontage
OpenMontage is maintained by calesthio. The project focuses on production-grade agentic workflows for video, blending open-source tools with optional premium providers. It emphasizes readable manifests, skills, and governance so coding assistants can execute reliably under human oversight.
OpenMontage is an open-source agentic video production system that turns an AI coding assistant into a hands-on producer. Pipelines, YAML manifests, and Markdown skills direct stage-by-stage work—research, proposal, script, scene plan, assets, edit, compose—while a scored selector chooses providers across quality, control, cost, and latency. It supports AI video, image, TTS, and music services (Kling, Runway, Veo via fal.ai or HeyGen, FLUX, DALL·E 3, Google TTS, ElevenLabs, Suno) alongside free/local options including Piper, WhisperX, Remotion, HyperFrames, and FFmpeg. Without paid keys, it can still build real‑footage documentaries using Archive.org, NASA, Wikimedia, and free stock, then render polished edits with captions and automated self-review. Quality gates prevent slideshow outputs, validate timelines, and enforce delivery promises with auditable decision logs and budget controls.
