Create a SaaS Build Checklist Before You Code
Generate a practical build checklist so your SaaS project starts with fewer missing pieces.
Prompt Overview
Tips For You
The best time to find missing SaaS decisions is before the first database table and auth flow are built.
From Operations TeamNexusAi TechnologyProblem It Solves
Many SaaS builds start with code before the builder has clarified auth, database, user roles, core pages, billing, emails, deployment, security, and QA. This prompt creates a quick checklist before implementation begins.
Pre-Build Readiness Score
Shows whether the SaaS project is ready for coding.
SaaS Foundation Checklist
Covers auth, database, roles, billing, emails, deployment, and QA.
First Technical Tasks
Creates coding-ready starter tasks for AI coding tools.
AI Prompt Instructions
Act as a senior full-stack SaaS engineer and launch checklist reviewer.
I am about to build a SaaS app. Your task is to create a practical pre-build checklist so I know what needs to be planned before coding.
SaaS context:
- Product idea: [insert idea]
- Target users: [insert users]
- Core workflow: [insert workflow]
- Planned stack: [Next.js / React / Node / Python / Supabase / Firebase / Stripe / other]
- Launch type: [MVP / paid beta / internal tool / public SaaS]
- Technical level: [beginner / intermediate / advanced]
Create the following output:
1. Pre-Build Readiness Score
Rate how ready the project sounds and explain what is missing.
2. SaaS Build Checklist
Create a checklist covering:
- User roles
- Authentication
- Database entities
- Core pages
- API routes
- Permissions
- Payments or billing
- Emails and notifications
- Admin panel
- Error handling
- Security basics
- Deployment
- Analytics
- QA testing
3. Missing Decisions
List the top decisions I should make before writing code.
4. First Technical Tasks
Create the first 10 technical tasks to give Codex, Windsurf, Cursor, Qoder, or OpenHands.
5. Tool Workflow
Explain how ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Supabase, VS Code, and deployment tools should work together.
Keep this practical and implementation-focused.
Expected Outcome
A SaaS pre-build checklist with readiness score, missing decisions, first technical tasks, and AI tool workflow.
Implementation Journey
Generate the pre-build checklist
Paste the promptText into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini with your product idea, stack, launch type, and technical level. Expect a readiness score and build checklist.
8–12 minutesCreate the first technical tasks
Paste the first technical tasks into Codex, Windsurf, Qoder, Cursor, OpenHands, or VS Code Copilot to start implementation planning.
15–30 minutesImplement the foundation
Use Supabase or Firebase for auth/database, Stripe for payments, your IDE for code, and a deployment platform to ship the first testable version.
