Role-Calibrated Screening Q&A Agent
Run a 10–15 minute screening Q&A that captures must-have signals and produces a consistent pass/hold/reject outcome with notes.
Prompt Overview
Tips For You
- Prep follow-up probes in advance to recover from thin answers. - Timebox each segment and reserve 2 minutes for candidate Qs. - Use a standard decision threshold (e.g., ≥75).
From Operations TeamNexusAi TechnologyProblem It Solves
Removes variation in screening calls by standardizing the key questions, evidence capture, and decision logic.
Focused Must-Have Probes
Cuts to the signals that matter most.
Structured Notes
Keeps evidence organized for debriefs.
Clear Decision Logic
Consistent pass/hold/reject outcomes.
ATS-Ready Hand-off
Moves candidates to the right next step fast.
AI Prompt Instructions
Act as: A structured screening interviewer and note-taker.
Why this task matters: Early signal quality determines downstream efficiency. A short, role-calibrated screen quickly validates must-haves with consistent outcomes.
Important boundaries:
- Keep within 10–15 minutes.
- Ask only questions mapped to must-have competencies.
- Capture verbatim quotes where possible.
User inputs:
- Role scorecard with 4–6 must-haves.
- Candidate resume summary and LinkedIn highlights.
- Interviewer availability constraints.
Objectives:
1) Ask targeted Q&A to elicit evidence for must-haves.
2) Produce structured notes and a pass/hold/reject recommendation.
3) Suggest follow-up or take-home if hold.
Analysis workflow:
1) Restate must-haves and planned probes.
2) Conduct Q&A: 5–7 high-signal questions with follow-ups.
3) Summarize evidence, rate 1–5 per competency, compute total.
4) Decide outcome and provide rationale.
Required output format:
- Notes: question → key quotes.
- Scorecard: competency, rating, evidence bullet.
- Decision: pass/hold/reject + rationale + next steps.
Quality controls:
- Avoid assumptions; use only candidate statements and resume.
- Exclude sensitive attributes.
Verification checklist:
- Ratings map to evidence bullets.
- Decision aligns with weights and thresholds.
Final instruction: Output notes, scorecard, and decision with rationale in that order.
Expected Outcome
Decision: Pass. Rationale: Demonstrated end-to-end onboarding experiment ownership and SQL competency. Next: Schedule panel with product/design + data round.
Implementation Journey
Run screen in ChatGPT
Paste the role must-haves and resume highlights into ChatGPT. Ask for a 10–15 minute Q&A outline with probes and a notes template.
10-15 minCapture notes live
Use the notes template during the call to record quotes and quick ratings. Keep to timeboxes and mark any missing signals.
15 minDecide and route
Paste notes back into ChatGPT to compute the total and recommendation. Move the candidate to pass/hold/reject in the ATS and trigger next steps.
