Enterprises want the speed advantages of AI agents, but few are willing to trade change control for convenience. Akuity’s Agentic Control Plane squarely targets that tension. Rather than giving agents a broad, credentialed tunnel into Kubernetes and delivery systems, it binds each agent session to a real human identity, carries that identity across instances and clusters, and then enforces existing RBAC, approvals and policy checks before any change is made.
A companion MCP server links popular agents to the control plane using the Model Context Protocol. The design choice matters: many teams already experiment with open-source MCP servers that pass raw access with little attribution or logging. Akuity flips that model by making the operational record—deploy history, cluster health, change lineage—the first-class interface, not the cluster itself. The result is faster global queries, safer automation against fleet-level state, and a complete, person-scoped audit trail.
For buyers, the question is no longer whether agents can draft a Helm chart; it’s how to let them propose, stage and promote changes without widening the blast radius. Practical adoption looks like granting least-privilege roles, using policy to fence sensitive ops even when a user could normally perform them, and routing every agent-driven promotion through the same approval path the team already trusts. Early enterprise results suggest that incident triage and noisy fleet hygiene may be the fastest wins.
